It’s been a while since I said anything about the site, so here’s what’s been up:
I have no intentions of opening Mindfull.co up to the public before March/2012. This is because for the first time ever, I’m going someplace sunny for a holiday. Rather than scrambling to push things into motion hastily, I’d like to come at making some fans, friends and sales with a clear, relaxed head. So there’s that.
Here’s something else that’s been up though. I’ve always looked at e-zine articles and, well, any of the advertising you see all over the internet, and thought to myself, there must be a ton of money in this crap. If I have to look at this stuff all over the place, I should at least look into it and see if I can get my piece of that pie.
Well, I was listening to an episode of the Internet Business Mastery podcast the other day, and I must say they got me pumped about the whole thing. So I’m now in the midst of experimenting with affiliate marketing through clickbank.com and facebook ads.
My formula for paying for ad clicks on facebook is this: 2/3 of what my commission would be, divided by the number of clicks I predict it will take to make a sale. That gives me the maximum I will spend on an ad click. I feel a little like I just bought a bunch of lottery tickets, but you don’t know until you try; and hey – it’s kind of fun and interesting.
Most of my ads initially were rejected by Facebook for varying reasons, but it was usually due to the content of the landing page people were clicking to. Since I have no control over the content of vendor sites, I threw a quick wordpress blog up on the web so I could construct my own landing pages and link to affiliates through them. So far I have clicks with no sales, but it’s still day one so we’ll see how this progresses.
What I should really get to though, is how this relates to Mindfull.co! Putting these ads and bids together, and devising my targeting strategy got me thinking, These digital products are nice! You can just sell and sell, and you never have worry about quantities or production! So the idea I’m toying with now is making Mindfull.co a pre-order site. Not totally sure of all the details, but if I could run targeted ads and take pre-orders for a few weeks to get an idea of demand, that could be a nice way to run a ‘limited edition’ line.
That’s it for now, folks. New episode of the Mindfull podcast coming in a little over a week, and more news after that! TTFN
